Kitahiroshima (北広島市 Kitahiroshima-shi?) is a city located in Ishikari, Hokkaidō, Japan. Its name, Kitahiroshima-shi, is translated as "North-Hiroshima city", or, more loosely, "city of North-Hiroshima", for 'kita' and 'shi' are the Japanese words for 'north' and 'city', respectively. It was founded on September 1, 1996, after the, until then, town Hiroshima was reorganized as a city, hence the word -shi in its full official name.

It is accessed by routes 36, 274 and the expressway with the interchange in the west. The urban sprawl of the Sapporo area are in the western part which the new part is bypassed.

In 1981, the bypass of route 274 was opened and the bypass of route 36 was opened in 1986.

In 2004, the population reached over 60,000 and as of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 60,977 and the density of 514 persons per km². The total area is 118.54 square kilometres (45.77 sq mi).
